I use the process of art therapy for many purposes:

  • To help you separate yourself  from "the problem".

  • Visually construct your relationship with "the problem" from multiple perspectives, including your strengths and resources.

  • Physically create your vision for your life.

  • Develop your abilities to practice more productive ways of responding to life's challenges.

  • To create ways of reaching your goals.

  • To predict what obstacles could get in the way and practice how to respond to them.

  • To create a picture of who you are without requiring any art skills or abilities.

  • To have a voice through colors, textures, shapes, patterns, and symbols that expresses what words cannot say.

  • Visually construct your preferred life and exceptions to the problem.

Using Art Therapy

"I found I could say things with color and shapes
that I couldn't say any other way--
things I had no words for."

~Georgia O'Keeffe~

Art Therapy does not require any art skills.

Using art therapy is not a requirement to work with me.

Art therapy is simply a therapeutic tool that I offer you.
